The Golf Club at Whitehawk Ranch
Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive. The Golf Club at Whitehawk Ranch is located in 768 Whitehawk Drive Clio, California. The course was built in 1996 designed by Dick Bailey. The course is resort type with 18 holes. Since this course was designed within a forest, it features pine trees lining all its fairways. Even though the terrain is mainly flat, there is some mounding that can cause uneven lies. Sand bunkers rarely come into play, but almost all the holes feature a thick native grass rough defining their fairways. The greens are large, undulating and fast. Water hazards come into play on eleven holes. The most scenic hole is number 18, a 558-yard, par 5, featuring a dogleg right fairway that is highlighted by both a target bunker on the left side, plus a sulfur creek flowing alongside the full length of the fairway. This hole also provides a scenic view of Eureka Peak. The greens grass type is Bent and fairways grass type is Winter Rye. The water hazards are available. The sand bunkers ranges between 51 to 60. Yardage Markers ranges from 100 to 200 and sprinkler heads marked. Earliest call for tee time is at 6:30 am with training facilities. The use of Spikes is not necessary. The club has surrounding area Plumas County. The course is designed specifically to improve the quality of the game.
