The Course at Wente Vineyards
Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society.
The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, and Health land, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.
The course at Wente Vineyards is located in Livermore, California. This course at Wente Vineyards is public and has eighteen holes. This course takes benefit of its beautiful surrounds and the designer went great lengths to leave the environment serene. The landscape includes sycamore, oak and cottonwood groves, native grasslands, and Wente vineyards, which come into play on one-third of the holes. The tee box on the opening hole sits 100 feet on top of the landing area and offers a tremendous view of the Livermore Valley and the cliffs of the Casa Blanca. The design incorporates some short par 4's that challenge you to pull out the driver.
This club was built in 1998 and is designed by Greg Norman. The greens grass type is bent grass and fairways grass type is winter rye. It has water hazards and the sand bunkers are ranged from 51 to 60. It has training and practices centre and have facilities like putting green, chipping area and teaching professional golf. Walking is allowed on the course. For players a restaurant, snack bar and full bar is available. The club has a surrounding area that comprises of the Alameda County.
Their goal is not to merely make the green but also to improve the quality of the game. They focus to exceed the needs and expectations of their members, guests and landlords by maintaining superior golf facilities and providing exceptional service at a great value.
