Hampton Cove Golf Course

Golf is an outdoor sport, originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.

Hampton Cove Golf Course, Highlands Course is situated at 450 Old Highway 431S, Owens Cross Roads, Alabama, United States of America. Being part of the Robert Trent Jones golf trail The River Course was designed to play alongside the Flint River, which flows through reclaimed soybean fields. The river comes into play on sixteen holes. All the fairways are lined by thick forests, and many of the undulating greens are triple-tiered. The terrain is predominantly flat, but there is some mounding in the fairways.

The Highlands Course is a Scottish links-style design that is well bunkered. This course features a gently rolling landscape dominated by grassy mounds, pot bunkers, and huge greens elevated well above the fairways. Many of the greens are tiered. Even though the fairways afford generous landing areas, they also provide uneven lies, featuring a stream flowing down the center of a fairway and in front of a green and an uphill play all the way with pot bunkers and mounds protecting the front of its green.

The par 3 Short Course is very open and links-like, with water hazards in play on 11 holes. The average hole measures more than 200 yards from the back tees. Clubs are provided on rent. The course also features tees of Purple, Orange, White and Teal having 7507, 6592, 6027 and 5283 Yardage for a course rating of 75, 72.6, 69.8 and 70.4 sloping at 135, 129, 124 and 119, respectively at par 72.

The 54 hole course was built in 1993 and was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Senior, having a Bent Grass type for the Greens and Bermuda Grass type for the Fairways. The  dress code requires a collared shirt.

Their goal isn't just to make the green, it's to improve the quality of the game. They desire to exceed the needs and expectations of their guests, members and landlords by maintaining superior golf facilities and providing exceptional service at a great value.
