Gold Hills Country Club

Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society.

The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.

Gold Hills Country Club is located on 1950 Gold Hills Dr Redding, California. Gold Hills Country Club was built in 1979 designed by Bob E. and Robert L. Baldock. The course type is semi-private. This course is well known for the many water hazards and sand bunkers that were strategically incorporated into its design. The signature hole is number 18, a 508-yard, par 5, and requiring accurate shots up the fairway which is lined by thick stands of pine trees.

The greens grass type is Bent and fairways grass type is Bermuda. The water hazards are available. The sand bunkers ranges between 31 to 40. Yardage Markers ranges from 100 to 200 and sprinkler heads marked. Earliest call for tee time is at 6:30 am with training facilities. The use of Spikes is not necessary. The course is designed specifically to improve the quality of the game.
