Glenlakes Golf Club
Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive. Glenlakes Golf Club located in Foley, Alabama is a semi-private, 27 holes, five star club. This club has both a regulation eighteen hole course as well as a nine hole course. The course has been totally rebuilt to include more water hazards and mounding in the fairways. The Lakes course is an easier nine hole course to walk and play. The terrain is fairly flat and ponds come into play on five holes. This club was built in 1984 and was designed by Bruce Devlin. Their greens grass type is Bermuda and the fairways grass type is Bermuda as well. Water hazards are present and sand bunkers range from 21 to 30.
Their goal is not to merely make the green but also to improve the quality of the game. They focus to exceed the needs and expectations of their members, guests and landlords by maintaining superior golf facilities and providing exceptional service at a great value.
