Foxtail Golf Club

Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society.

The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.

Foxtail Golf Club is a famous golf course that is located in the Rohnert Park area of California. It is a resort golf course that is extremely well maintained with a great deal of variation. It was built in the year 1974 and designed by a renowned designer Gary Baird. The course features include Bent grass type with 41 to 50 sand bunkers and 200, 150, 100 yard markers.

Foxtail Golf Club has two regulation eighteen hole courses. The South Course is narrow and tree lined, with a long back nine. The greens are undulated and medium sized. The wind kicks up in the day time, coming through the canyon, making proper club selection an important aspect of the game. There are lakes that come into play on five holes. The North Course is open and has only a few trees that can affect player’s shots. The terrain here is flat, and the greens are medium in size and sloped.

Open but challenging and picturesque with beautiful flowers, wildlife and a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside, Foxtail Golf Club offers a challenging round of golf for players of all skill levels.
