Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.
Fountaingrove Resort & Country Club is a famous golf course that is located in Fountaingrove Parkway of Santa Rosa in California. It is a resort golf course that is extremely well maintained with a great deal of variation. It was built in the year 1985 and designed by a renowned designer Ted Robinson. The course features include green Bent grass type with 61 to 70 sand bunkers and 200, 150, 100 yard markers.
This course was completely renovated during the fall of 1997. The course received a new set of tees on each hole, new irrigation and drainage, reshaped holes, reshaped bunkers, and new greens. The course was also extended to almost 7,000 yards from the championship tees. The course sits in an oak filled valley with many different elevation changes.
