Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society.
The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.
El Niguel Country Club is a famous golf course that is located the Laguna Niguel suburb of California. It is a private golf course that has 18 holes and is extremely well maintained with a great deal of variation. It was built in the year 1965 and designed by a renowned designer David W. Kent. The course features include the Bermuda grass type with 51 to 60 sand bunkers and 200, 150, 100 yard markers.
This course has many rolling hills which can cause uneven lies. Water hazards come into play on a number of holes. The greens are speedy and exceedingly difficult to read. The fairways are narrow and encumbered with many elevation changes. Tee times are reserved on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and sometimes on Saturdays.
