Cottonwood at Rancho San Diego
Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society.
The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, and Health land, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.
Cottonwood at Rancho San Diego is located in El Cajon, California and is a public course having thirty-six holes. This club offers two regulation eighteen hole courses. These courses have many old oak and cottonwood trees lining its fairways, and a broad river comes into play on some holes. The course hosts the San Diego Open every year. Fivesomes are allowed on the course weekdays only. This club was built in 1953 and designed by O.W. Moorman & A.C. Sears. The Greens Grass Type is Bent Grass and Fairways Grass Type is Bermuda grass. It has water hazards and the sand bunkers range form 31 to 40.
Besides it has a training and practice centre and facilities with putting green, teaching pro, and chipping area. This course makes available carts and includes electric access. The retails and fee structure consist of cart fees and pull carts. Walking is allowed for this course member. Also restaurants, snack bars, beverage carts and full bars are available.
