Carmel Valley Ranch Resort
Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society.
The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a 0tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, and Health land, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.
Carmel Valley Ranch Resort is located in Carmel, California. This is a resort course with 18 holes. This is the only Pete Dye-designed course on the peninsula. The original course design was much more complicated than the present design. Pete Dye made numerous changes in 1995 to get rid of many sand bunkers and lots of his trademark railroad ties, making the course much more golfer friendly. Even so, there is still adequate complexity remaining with the many large sand bunkers, long, thick rough and trees in play.
The greens are medium to large in size and many are tiered and undulating. Water comes into play on several holes. The Spalding Invitational has been held here in past years. This club was built in 1980. It is designed by Pete Dye. It is completely covered with Winter Rye and Bent Grass.
Besides it has a training and practice centre with some advance points and the training facilities include Putting Green and Chipping Area. Their rental and fee structure include cart fees and pull carts and restaurant and fee structure is available for their receivers. The club has a surrounding area that includes Monterey County.
Their goal is not to merely make the green but also to improve the quality of the game. They focus to exceed the needs and expectations of their members, guests and landlords by maintaining superior golf facilities and providing exceptional service at a great value.
