Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Cahawba Falls Country Club is a famous golf course that is located in Saint Centreville of Alabama. It is a semi private course that has 18 holes and is extremely well maintained with a great deal of variation. It was built in the year 1966 and designed by a renowned designer Bancroft Timmons. The course features includes the Bermuda grass type with 21 to 30 sand bunkers and 200, 150, 100 yard markers.
The fairways vary in width from narrow to broad, the greens vary in size, undulation and are speedy while the terrain varies between flat and rolling. Water and natural hazards come into play in some holes. Patches of woodlands and trees are scattered throughout the entire course and at times can cause golfers some real grief.
Open but challenging, Cahawba Falls Country Club is an Alabama favorite of golfers of all skill levels.
