Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive. Bonnie Crest Country Club, built in 1940 is private club. It is located in Montgomery, Alabama. This course has many mature trees lining its fairways. The fairways are narrow and the greens are fast. It was built by designer Weldon Doe. The greens grass type is Bermuda while the fairways grass type is Bermuda. Water hazards are not present and the sand bunkers ranges from 51 to 60. Training facilities are available and use of spikes is important. Carts are electric and walking is allowed as well.
