Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society.
 
The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, and Health land, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.
 
Bishop Country Club is located in Bishop, California. Bishop Country Club course is semi-private with eighteen holes. This club was built in 1963 and designed by Joe Williams. This enjoyable course has water hazards coming into play on thirteen holes. On a couple of holes, you may have to lay-up since the creek is too far out to carry. The greens are well manicured and medium speed. The views of the surrounding mountains are exceptional greens grass type and fairways grass type is bent grass. The sand bunkers are 51 to 60 and yardage markers of 200, 150, and 100.
 
Bishop Country Club has earliest call for tee time at 7 am. Driving Range is not available. Training facilities provided are putting green, chipping area. Discounts are given for Twilight, Junior, and Senior. This club has restaurant, snack bar and full bar. There are no homes on course and golf community. The course is designed specifically to improve the quality of the game.
