Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society.
The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, and Health land, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.
Birnam Wood Golf Club has located in Santa Barbara, California. This course was built in 1968 and designed by Robert Trent Jones. This is a private course with 18 holes. This course is very challenging because it features small, fast, and very deceiving greens. Water hazards dominate the course and several sand bunkers protect the fairways and greens. It is fully covered with bent grass.
Birnam Wood Golf Club has no tee time and has training and practice centre with some advance points. Training facilities include putting green. No dress code is available for players. Restaurant and fee structure is available for their receivers. Its open time is 8 am and no specific close time. Birnam Wood Golf Club surrounding area includes Santa Barbara. The course is designed specifically to improve the quality of the game.
