Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society.
Altadena Valley Country Club is a private golf course. The Course is located in Birmingham, Alabama. This course, which was renovated during the summer of 1999, offers a challenge to all. The narrow fairways are tree lined and the greens are small. There are trees and ponds that come into play on some holes.
Altadena Valley course was built in the year 1940. The Course was designed by Wally Nall. The greens grass in the course is of bermuda type and the fairways grass is also of bermuda grass type. Water hazards are applicable in the course. Also, there are around 21 to 30 sand bunkers in the course. There are yardage markers of 200, 150 and 100 and also the sprinkler heads in the course are marked. Training facility is available in the course. County Jefferson is the surrounding area of the Altadena Valley golf course.
