This is the home course for the northern California PGA, Professional Golfer’s Association. The course sits above the central valley fog belt and beneath the snow-covered Sierras, providing for many spectacular views. The course features eighteen postcard holes protected by more than 100 old-style traditional-styled sand bunkers. However, the large landing areas in the fairways are quite generous. This is truly a fine traditional course that is fair, challenging, and a whole lot of fun to play.
Designer Carter Morrish and Tad Buchanan built Saddle Creek Golf Club in 1996. Its greens grass type is bent grass and fairways grass type is winter rye. Water hazards with sand bunkers come into play. They have earliest tee time call at seven. Training facilities include putting green, chipping area. The on-site teaching professional is Chris Bitticks. Dress code is not applicable and course members are allowed to walk on the course. They provide restaurant facilities like beverage cart and full bar. Club surrounding area includes County Calaveras.
