Rancho Murieta Country Club
Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive. Rancho Murieta Country Club is one of the exciting and rewarding golf courses and is located in the Rancho Murieta suburb of California. It is a private golf course and is extremely well maintained with a great deal of variation. It was built in the year 1971 and designed by a renowned designer Bert Stamps. The course features include Bent grass type and Winter Rye fairways with 51 to 60 sand bunkers and 200, 150, 100 yard markers. Rancho Murieta Country Club offers two outstanding eighteen hole courses that are considered to be the best in Northern California. The fairways vary in width, the greens vary in size and undulation, and the terrain varies between flat and rolling. There are sand bunkers that come into play and some natural hazards. There are also water hazards that come into play on a couple of holes, and many trees line the fairways. The Senior PGA Tour's Raley's Senior Gold Rush Tournament was held here every October until 1996.
Open but challenging, Rancho Murieta Country Club course offers a challenging round of golf for players of all skill levels. Their aim is not just to make the green but it is to improve the quality of the game, to exceed the needs and expectations of their guests and members by maintaining superior golf facilities and providing exceptional service at a great value.
