Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The Newport Beach Country Club Golf Course is located in E Coast Hwy Newport Beach, California. The course has rolling terrain with numerous large, mature trees surrounding the layout. Several holes overlook Newport Bay. The signature hole is number 17, a 185-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over water to a green that is sloped from back to front. This club began hosting the Senior PGA, Professional Golfer’s Association, Toshiba Classic in 1996 and is scheduled to hold the event through 2000. The course was initially redesigned by Harry and David Rainville in 1966. The 6,239-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 77.6 and slope of 141.
The Newport Beach Country Club Golf Course was built in the year 1954 and was designed by William F. and William P. Bell. It has a Greens Grass Type of Poa Annua Grass and Fairways Grass Type of Bermuda Grass. It has Water Hazards and Sand Bunkers ranging from 51 to 60. It has Yardage Markers from 200, 150, 100 Yard Markers.
