Ranch Course at Alisal
Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. Ranch Course at Alisal is a famous golf course that is located on the Alisal Road in the Solvang suburb of California. It is a private golf course that has 18 holes and is extremely well maintained with a great deal of variation. It was built in the year 1955 and designed by a renowned designer William F. Bell. The course features include Bent grass and Winter Rye fairways with 61 to 70 sand bunkers and 200, 150, 100 yard markers.
Ranch Course at Alisal enlarged its greens in 1997, one of the ongoing updates to the original Billy Bell design. The uphill par 3 on hole number 9 now has a new tee and green, and has been lengthened to 208 yards from the back tee. This course also refurbished the back nine during the 1997-98 winter seasons. This picturesque design continues to features many lovely oak trees lining its fairways. There is a main barranca that runs through the middle of the course, affecting many holes.
Ranch Course also has fast greens, and the rolling hills that create many uneven lies. In the afternoon, one can spot many deer along the sides of the fairways. Jack Daray, Jr. and Stephen Halsey did some redesigns on the course in 1991. The course is limited to members and guests of the ranch.
