Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive. Rams Hill Country Club is a famous golf course that is located on the Rams Hill Road in the Borrego Springs suburb of California. It is a semi private golf course that has 18 holes and is extremely well maintained with a great deal of variation. It was built in the year 1982 and designed by a renowned designer Ted Robinson. The course features includes Bent grass type and Winter Rye fairways with 51 to 60 sand bunkers and 200, 150, 100 yard markers. Rams Hill Country Club course is well known for hosting an annual United States Open qualifier tournament. There are a number of tough holes to challenge any level of golfer. The course provides sufficient variety of terrain to challenge even the most advanced golfer. The entire course is very picturesque, including beautiful flowers, wildlife and breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
