Old River Golf Course
Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.
Old River Golf Course is located in N Macarthur, Tracy, California. Their golf course is a public one with 18 holes. This course has numerous elevation changes throughout its layout. A couple of tees are set at the course's highest elevation and provide spectacular views of the course and surrounding area. The greens are undulating and require a keen eye to read. Young trees line the rolling fairways. At maturity, this will be a lush course. There are two wide-mouthed island greens.
The club was built in the year 1999 and the designer was Lloyd Gastera and H. Sibley. Their green grass type is bent and Fairways grass type is bluegrass. There are water hazards and sand bunkers vary from 11 to 20. Yardage markers are 150 only. Tee boxes are blue, white, gold and red. Blue yardage is 6213, white is 5901, gold is 5586 and red is 4755. The club carries out training facilities which provides putting green. The club does not have any dress code and spike compulsion. Guests are open and there is course access too. Discounts are there for twilight, junior and senior. Professional shops are also there which provides different sorts of golf accessories, apparels and clubs. Their surrounding area covers county San Joaquin with no homes and no golf community.
