Oak Creek Golf Club
Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.
Oak Creek Golf Club is a famous golf course that is located on the Golf Club Road in Irvine of California. It is a public golf course that has 18 holes and is extremely well maintained with a great deal of variation. It was built in the year 1996 and designed by a renowned designer Tom Fazio. The course features include Bent grass type and the fairways are of Winter Rye type with 1 to 10 sand bunkers and Kirby marking system.
Oak Creek Golf Club was built on land that was formerly an orange grove. The course is built amongst the rolling hills, and water hazards come into play on many holes. The terrain is rolling that require many uphill shots to elevated greens and downhill shots from elevated tees. The fairways are open with the exception of eucalyptus trees on some holes.
Water also comes into play on hole 9, a 500-yard, par 5, known as Fortitude. This hole needs a player to place the second shot to the left to evade a large lake that runs along the right edge of the fairway up to the green. There are many heaps of trees on the course and around the greens which can be used to stop ball or be used to direct the ball to the green.
The course also features the electronic distance system which is a hand-held device that gives the correct yardage from where you stand to the flag. The course provides a tee location sheet each day and yardage books can be purchased from the pro shop.
