Napa Valley Country Club

Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society.

The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.

Napa Valley Country Club is a private golf course located in Hagen Road Napa, California. This course's front and back nines are completely different. The front nine features narrow, tree-lined fairways, while the back nine has more open fairways. The course is situated in a quiet setting and offers many great views of the San Francisco Bay. The signature hole is number 11, a 135-yard, par 3, featuring both an elevated tee and green, and requiring a tee shot over a valley to a sloped green. There are several lakes in the design. Robert Muir Graves redesigned the course in 1973, and Ron Fream added nine new holes and redesigned the others in 1987.
