Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society.
The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.
Mission Trails is a famous golf course that is located in the San Diego suburb of California. It is a public golf course that has 18 holes and is extremely well maintained with a great deal of variation. It was built in the year 1950 and designed by a renowned designer William P. Bell. The course features include Bent grass type and fairways of Bermuda grass with 21 to 30 sand bunkers and 200, 150, 100 yard markers.
Mission Trails is a hilly course that features narrow fairways, and water hazards come into play on six holes. The signature hole is the number 17 which is a 237-yard, par 3, requiring an accurate tee shot. Additionally, the golfer must hit over a drainage ditch in front of the green, making par here an exceptionally first-class score.
Mission Trails golf course winds through woods and hills and was designed to flow with the natural setting of the area. The course blends into the landscape and captures spectacular views.
