Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society.
The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.
Mission Lakes Country Club is a famous golf course that is located in the Desert Hot Springs of California. It is a semi private golf course that has 18 holes and is extremely well maintained with an immense variation. It was built in the year 1972 and designed by a famous designer Ted Robinson. The course features include bent grass while the fairways have Bermuda grass type with 21 to 30 sand bunkers and 200, 150, 100 yard markers.
Mission Lakes Country Club is located near the mountains. Three of this course's holes play from off tee boxes carved into the side of the mountain. There is an abundance of the natural desert vegetation lining the fairways. There are two lakes that come into play on the course. The wind kicks up in the daytime, coming through the canyon, making proper club selection an important aspect of the game.
Mission Lakes Country Club course is very picturesque, including beautiful flowers, wildlife and breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. Open but challenging, this course also offers a challenging round of golf for players of all skill levels.
