Mile Square Golf Course

Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society.

The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.

Mile Square Golf Course is a public golf course with 18 holes, which is located at Fountain Valley in California. It was built in 1962 by well known designers named as Harry and David Rainville. It boasts two 18 hole courses, the classic and the players that opened for play on February 2001. The classic is an easy course to score well on if one hits the ball a long way. The tree-lined fairways are partly open, and the greens are large. Its terrain is flat and easy to walk on with most holes being straightaway, with the exclusion of number 17, a 504-yard, par 5, where the fairway doglegs on the left side. There are three ponds on the course, but only the one on hole number 4 is in play with greens being of normal speed. Its greens grass type is Bent grass and its fairways grass type is Bermuda grass with water hazards. It has around 81 to 90 sand bunkers with yardage markers of 200, 150, 100 yards.

Their goal isn't just to make the green, but to improve the quality of the game. They desire to exceed the needs and expectations of their guests, members and landlords by maintaining superior golf facilities and providing exceptional service at a great value.
