It was built in the year 1973 and designed by renowned designers Arnold Palmer and Frank Duane. The course features include Poa Annua grass type with 21 to 30 sand bunkers and 200, 150, 100 yard markers.
The original Links course has been built on rolling terrain with large trees and brush lining the fairways on all the holes except for the two ocean holes, 17 and 18. The greens are medium-sized and slightly undulating. There are many very large and deep sand bunkers. Many of the tees and greens are elevated. The fairways are quite wide with several dogleg designs. The major difficulty in playing the course is the putting, and the wind, which blows most of the time, can require you to use more club than normal and to aim at sand bunkers allowing the wind to blow the ball back to the green.
