Valderrama Golf Club
Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society. Valderrama Golf Club is located in San Roque, Spain. It was established in 1975 it has total 27 holes. Architect of the course is Robert Trent Jones, Sr. The club starting times between 12:00 and 14:00 for visitors, visitors can only play twice in any month and never more than seven times in any one calendar year. For Tee Times reservation must be made in advance. Proper golf attire required and driving range is complimentary. Clubhouse has Masters Bar Valderrama Restaurant. This par 71 course has 18 holes measuring 6,234 meters or 6,926 yards for a standard scratch score of 71 from the championship tees. Hundreds of olive, pine and cork oak trees have been planted and sited in key positions to better frame and describe greens and fairways. Perfectly groomed, the greens are perfect, the fairways covered with the supreme Bermuda grass and the rough is a mix of Penncross and Ryegrass. The demanding design of the course is such that during the eight tournaments of the Volvo Masters to date, only six players have managed to play the four rounds under Par figures. Valderrama is the first Spanish member of the New York Audubon Society's wild life sanctuary system for golf courses. Few layouts harbor such a variety of wildlife and Valderrama may be the only one where the European Otter breeds. Some fifty acres of the property are kept as a Sanctuary for wildlife to provide feasible habitats for shy creatures. Buggies and caddies are available. In 2000, the club won Donald Ross Award by the American Society of Golf Architects. The course is designed specifically to improve the quality of the game.
