San Lorenzo Golf Club
Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society. San Lorenzo Golf Club is located in Almancil, Portugal. The course was established in 1988 and designed by architect Joseph Lee with 18 holes. San Lorenzo Golf Club is located within the Quinta do Lago Resort, an exclusive residential and recreational estate set amidst 645 hectares of pine groves bordering the Atlantic Ocean and the Ria Formosa Natural Park. The facilities within the estate include four golf courses, a shopping centre, an equestrian centre, a tennis centre, the luxury five star hotel Quinta do Lago as well as several fine restaurants, bars and night clubs. This par 72 course has 18 holes measuring 6,238 meters or 6,825 yards with a slope gradient of 128 for a standard scratch score of 72.2 from the championship tees. The course runs along the shores of the Ria Formosa Estuary Natural Reserve amidst pristine surroundings formed by lush pine groves, crystal lakes and sand dunes. Designed by American architect Joseph Lee, this scenic course has every difficulty in the book and offers a memorable round of golf. The club is owned and managed by Le Meridien Hotels who offers privileged access, guaranteed tee time and reduced green fees to its guests. For tee times reservation is required, buggies and caddies available, dress code is required. This beautiful course has every difficulty in the book. The fairways are lined by majestic umbrella pines and intentionally placed bunkers and water hazards, in the form of lakes or natural saltwater marshes which influence the game on numerous holes. Every club in the bag will be essential and a good positioning of the ball is paramount to tame this astonishing course. The course is designed specifically to improve the quality of the game.
