Saint Germain Golf Club

Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society.

The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.

The Saint Germain Golf Club offers two exciting and recreational golf courses namely the Le Grand Parcours and Les Genets Course. Both the courses were built in 1920 and designed by renowned architect Harry S. Colt. The Le Grand Parcours is the main course laid out over a very flat and squat terrain covered with majestic trees. The course features 18 holes all together and is a Par 72. It covers 6,591 total land area and has a slope gradient of 136. The course also has subtly shaped terrain, in particular around the greens, while dotting the layout with beautifully shaped bunkers.

The Les Genets Course or the minor course on the other hand has a Par 33 with 9 holes in all and covers a land area of 2,221 yards. The course has been constructed in a meadow, but there is some mounding on a couple of holes that can cause uneven lies. The entire course is very picturesque, including beautiful flowers, wildlife and breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.

Open but challenging, both Le Grand Parcours and the Les Genets courses offer improved quality of game. The Saint Germain Golf Club aims to exceed the needs and expectations of their guests and members by maintaining superior golf facilities and providing exceptional service at a great value.
