Royal Mougins Golf Club

Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society.

The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.

Royal Mougins Golf Club offers one of the exciting and recreational golf courses known as Royal Mougins Course. The course lies in the secluded valley of the Vallon de l'Oeuf, between ancient stone terraces covered with mature olive trees. Established in 1993 with 18 total holes, the course was designed by a renowned architect Robert von Hagge. The course is spread on 6,569 yards and is a 71 Par with a slope gradient of 140.

Each one of the 18 holes on the course has its own character and bears such illustrative names as Roller Coaster, Pinnacle or the Miracle. There are up to six diverse tees on certain holes and for the least experienced players, the obstructions can easily be bypassed. Although there is a certain sensation of tightness about the course, this is more an impression than a reality as the fairways are sloped on each side and tend to bring the ball back in play. Water hazards also come into play on some holes, with eight lakes, waterfalls and a small river.

Open but challenging and picturesque with beautiful flowers, wildlife and a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside, Royal Mougins Golf Course offers a challenging round of golf for players of all skill levels.
