Royal Golf Club de Belgique Ravenstein

Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.

The Royal Golf Club de Belgique Ravenstein offers exciting and recreational golf courses namely the Old Course and the New Course. The Old Course was built long back in 1905 and built by a renowned architecture Tom Simpson. This course features 18 holes all together and is a Par 72. Measuring 6,600 yards, the Old Course has a slope gradient of 130 and extends through the lush, botanical parkland surroundings of the Chateau de Ravenstein estate. The park’s impressive oaks, cedars, elms, weeping willows, cherry trees and rhododendrons provide a very appealing setting which would almost conceal the course itself.

The New Course of the Royal Club on the other hand was built by the renowned architect Mackenzie Ross in 1951. This course covers 4,178 yards of land and features a Par 64, 9 total holes and a slope gradient of 105. This course shares the same magnificent parkland and botanical like setting as the Old Course for less experienced or to practice the technical shots. A handicap of 36 is enough to play this course, while the Old Course requires a lower handicap of 20 for men and 24 for ladies.

Open but challenging, both Old Course and New Course offer picturesque sights with beautiful flowers, wildlife and a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside. The aim of Royal Golf Club de Belgique Ravenstein is not just to make the green but it is to improve the quality of the game, to exceed the needs and expectations of their guests and members by maintaining superior golf facilities and providing exceptional service at a great value.
