Real Sociedad de Golf Neguri
Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive. Real Sociedad de Golf Neguri offers one of the exciting and recreational golf courses known as the La Galea Course. The course enjoys a seaside location on the Nervion river estuary in Algorta. Established in 1911, the course was refurbished completely by a Spanish architect Javier Arana Ybarra in 1961. Presently, the course is a Par 72, measuring 6,868 yards and has 18 holes in all. The front nine of the La Galea course is very demanding and the third hole runs along the Atlantic, suffering the constant ocean winds. Otherwise, the course runs through a thick pine forest lining the fairways and surrounding the greens where large and projecting bunkers difficult approach. Its extreme length and the invariable wind blowing from the ocean make it intricate to play. But the challenge is well worth the efforts and the reward is a tremendous round of golf on a fantastic layout. Open but challenging and picturesque with beautiful flowers, wildlife and a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside, the La Galea golf course offers a challenging round of golf for players of all skill levels.
