Real Club de Golf Puerta de Hierro (Arriba course)

Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society.

One of Spain's most ancient and conventional golf club, the Real Club de Puerto de Hierro was inaugurated in 1904 and has since been the cradle of many champions. Located in the residential estate of Puerta de Hierro, an upper class suburb of Madrid, the Real Club Puerta de Hierro has every facility one would expect from such an exclusive club, including tennis, horse back ridding and polo club. The club house is an elegant building which blends perfectly into its parkland surroundings.

The Real Club de Golf Puerta de Hierro has two brilliant eighteen hole courses, the Upper Course Arriba and the Lower Course Abajo. This par 72 course has 18 holes measuring 6,347 meters or 6,941 yards with a slope gradient of 125 for a standard scratch score of 72.5 from the championship tees. Designed by famous Scottish architect Tom Simpson, the Upper Course was ranked at 37 in the Top 100 European courses by British Golf World magazine. A tight course hugging the natural contour of the terrain, the course offers beautiful views and many of its holes are limited by the Polo Club fields.

Real Club de la Puerta de Hierro is a very special club and has strict admission rules. It is closed for green fee players, who must imperatively be accompanied by a member of the club in order to play. The club has also maintained a strict amateur policy, excluding any sponsored tournaments from its calendar, so as to keep the amateur spirit of the game. Real Club de Golf Puerta de Hierro lies within the city limits and is easily accessible by public transport.

At Real Club de la Puerta de Hierro, they desire to exceed the needs and expectations of their guests, members and landlords by maintaining superior golf facilities and providing exceptional service at a great value.
