Nimes Campagne Golf Club

Golf is an outdoor sport, originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Heathland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.

Nimes Campagne Golf Club is located in Nimes, France. It was established in 1968 with a Parkland and Openland Layout by Donald Harradine and Leonard Morandi. 130 acres of woods and heathland are the setting for this demanding course stretching through the Domaine de Campagne estate, at the edge of the Camargue. The narrow fairways are lined by oaks and cypress trees and nearly one third of these are dog legs. There are also several strategically placed bunkers and water hazards throughout the layout, while the greens are well designed and rather small, requiring precise approach shots.
From the very planning days, this course was design to be a real challenge and it has since rightly earned its reputation as one of the most heartless courses in France.

As the main hazard at Nimes is the famous Mistral northern wind and the gusty southern wind can sometimes make play nearly impossible. It is indeed a tough challenge and quite an ordeal when it blows. These characteristics make low flying ball and bump and run play a must to keep track of the ball in windy conditions. A very demanding and challenging layout in splendid natural surroundings and it is a must play, in the region. Nevertheless, it is not strength but skill, stamina and technique which will be necessary to tame this exceptional layout.

The Par 72 Nimes Campagne Golf Course has 18 holes measuring 6.135 meters or 6,712 yards with a slope gradient of 139 and a SSS, Standard Scratch Score of 73.3 from the championship Tees. Walking is allowed on the course with Caddies and Buggies available on rent.

Their goal isn't just to make the green, it's to improve the quality of the game. They desire to exceed the needs and expectations of their guests, members and landlords by maintaining superior golf facilities and providing exceptional service at a great value.
