National Golf Club
Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive. National Golf Club offers exciting and recreational golf courses namely the Championship Course and the Academy Course. Both these courses were built in 1994 and designed by renowned architects David Feherty and David Jones. The Championship course is set amidst a lush forest of umbrellas pines and eucalyptus and features a 72 Par with 18 holes. The course also offers an abundance of natural water hazards which have created four beautiful lakes. The Academy Course on the other hand has a superb 9 hole layout which can suit any standard of play, while covering the entire array of technical difficulties, with wide, tree-lined fairways and water coming into play on several holes. This course also features comprehensive instruction facilities which cater for all golfers, from scratch players to complete beginners, and a wide range of tuition programmes is available. Open but challenging and picturesque with beautiful flowers, wildlife and a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside, both Championship and the Academy courses offer a challenging round of golf for players of all skill levels.
