Moscow Country Club
Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society.
The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.
Moscow Country Club offers an exclusive and recreational Championship course that offers a challenging round of golf for players of all skill levels. Established in 1993, this Championship course was designed and built by a renowned designer Robert Trent Jones.
The courses is built according to international standards and is set amidst the deep Russian forest, where silver birches, evergreens, lakes and the autochthonous wildlife provide an impressive setting to a no less impressive golf course.
The Championship course is a Par 72, covering 7,015 yards of area and has 18 total holes. The greens vary in size and undulation and are speedy whereas the fairways vary between tall stands short trees. There are several natural and water hazards that come into play on some holes with lakes and streams, and are dotted with numerous bunkers. From the back tees, it has sufficient length and difficulty to host any type of championship tournaments. This course has also been the venue of the Russian Open, a European PGA, Professional Golfers’ Association Challenge Tour event, since 1996.
Open but challenging and picturesque with beautiful flowers, wildlife and a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside, Moscow Country Club’s Championship course is an all time favorite for all golf players in Russia.
