Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. Les Sangliers is a demanding championship course inaugurated in 1992 and designed by Hugues Lambert which has been the venue of numerous international tournaments, including the French Open. This par 73 course has 18 holes measuring 6,727 meters or 7,360 yards with a slope gradient of 137 for a standard scratch score of 75.2 from the championship tees.
 
It is also a regular stop of the French and European PGA, Professional Golfers' Association tours. Stretching through a lush forest, this course demands an all-round game, technical skills, strength and stamina. Walking is allowed on the course and buggies are available. Numerous exploratory rounds will also be necessary before coming to grips with its difficulties and understand its strategic requirements. The course is designed specifically to improve the quality of the game.
