Le Touquet Golf Club (La Mer course)

Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Healthland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.

Le Touquet Golf Club offers three exciting golf courses that include La Mer Course, La Forest Course and the Le Manor Course. The La Mer Course is one of the exciting and superior golf courses located in the elegant turn of the century seaside resort of Le Touquet on the Opal Coast. Open as a resort golf course, La Mer Course was established in 1931 and was designed by Harry Colt and Taylor. The course is a par 72 with 18 holes and measures 6,865 yards.

La Mer is laid out through a wild dune landscape uncovered to the strong wind of the English Channel. The course is slightly hilly, with carefully designed fairways and some difficult bunkers. The fairways are lined by a thick rough made of complicated bushes and shrubs. Shrewd tacticians and thinking golfers will be more at ease on this layout than strong hitters, especially under windy conditions.

Open but challenging and picturesque with beautiful flowers, wildlife and a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside, La Mer golf course offers a challenging round of golf for players of all skill levels.
