Le Kempferhof Golf Hotel & Academy

Golf is an outdoor sport, originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Heathland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.

Le Kempferhof Golf Hotel and Academy is located in Plobsheim, France. The splendid Parkland and Woodland Kempferhof championship course, built in 1989, was designed by Robert von Hagge who certainly found inspiration from the enchanting and enigmatic beauty of the setting on the banks of the Rhine. The careful grooming of the course set in beautiful and peaceful surroundings, of a magnificent wooded landscape with ancient trees and romantic ponds, the carefully groomed layout unfolds through thick pine, beech and birch groves. Heavy contouring was necessary to shape the rather flattish terrain and gave the layout more character. But nature has regained its hold and previous earth moving now totally blends into the landscape.

This is a very selective course which rewards precision rather than sheer power, requiring total shot control from tees through approach. A few dangerous water hazards and the huge and carefully designed greens will particularly stress ball control and precision play. Nevertheless, the layout does not hide what it demands and all hazards are always clearly visible. Golfer will always be able to take the right shot decision and strikes a balance between the course’s hazards and its own golfing skills. With a slope of 142 from the back tees, the front tees are used to achieve a decent score at Kempferhof. It is ranked as one of the best in continental Europe both by the leading British golf magazine Golf World and the respected Peugeot Golf Guide.

This Par and SSS, Standard Scratch Score of 72 Course has 18 holes measuring 6,004 meters or 6,569 yards from the championship tees. Walking is allowed on the course and Buggies are available.
