Lausanne Golf Club

Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved.

Lausanne Golf Club was established in 1921 with 18 holes. This course is designed by Architect Narbel and Jeremy Pern. Patrick de preux is the president of the club. Lausanne Golf Club enjoys a stunning wooded setting with wonderful views over the Jura Mountains, Lake Geneva and the Alps the lake. On Lausanne' heights, the layout dominates the city and the Lake, some 1,500 feet below. Built in 1921 by Nardel, the course was systematically reshaped in 1996 by Jeremy Pern, who provided the course with new elevated greens while preserving the original spirit of the layout.

Lausanne is one of the finest golf clubs in Switzerland and ranked amongst the Top 50 European course by British golf magazine Golf World. The climate is Alpine with cold winters and warm summers. Lausanne course is laid out through a green setting of high grass, rolling terrain and densely wooded hills, providing a very attractive layout with contrasting holes. With nicely paced continuity, the fairways are often tight and rather hilly, lined by superb centuries old trees. The winter snow and rain produce a lush, deep rough that can be treacherous if going off the fairways.

This par 72 course has 18 holes measuring 6,197 meters or 6,780 yards with a slope gradient of 134 for a standard scratch score of 72.1 from the championship tees. Jeremy Pern has fabulously revitalized this classic course, now requiring more careful thought before each shot. The sights from the elevated tees are very charming but players should not get carried away by the view as the course, with a slope of 134 from the back tees, is a real challenger.

Nevertheless, the course has no real hidden trap and the hazards are always clearly visible, greatly helping visitors to score well on their first round. Lausanne Golf Club is ranked at 64 among the Top 100 European Courses. The course is designed specifically to improve the quality of the game.
