Halmstadt Golf Club
Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. This game does not have any fixed standard playing area, but an ideal measurement can be decided as per the availability of space and number of players involved. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Although often viewed as an elite pastime, golf is now becoming an increasingly popular sport across all sections of society. Halmstadt Golf Club is located in Halmstad, Sweden. It was established in 1930 with 36 holes. Architect of the course is Rafael Sundblom, Nils Skold and Frank Pennink. Sweden's most famous golf venue, Halmstad lies amidst pine forests and sand dunes in the seaside resort of Tylosand. Founded in 1930 and with well over 1,500 members, Halmstad is broadly recognized as Sweden's foremost club and its North Course is the number one course in the country and number three in Europe's Top 100. This par 72 course has 18 holes measuring 6,137 meters or 6,714 yards with a slope gradient of 137 for a standard scratch score of 74.2 from the championship tees. With another shorter but stunning and very challenging 18-hole course, the best driving range in Sweden and six putting greens, Halmstad is a must play for any serious golf trotter visiting the country. The North Course is an old style conventional layout extending through dense pine woods, which are so leading that there was no need for rough. These tall stands of trees are quite intimidating and give the wrong impression of long, narrow fairways, which is not quite the case, leading the players to be often too careful. Over sixty fairways bunkers also lurk dangerously, as do a number of streams and ditches, which can make all the difference in a match-play round at Halmstad's North Course. Tee Times in advanced booking are recommended, walking is allowed and buggies available and no particular dress code required. The course is designed specifically to improve the quality of the game.
