Domaine de Taulane Golf Resort

Golf is an outdoor sport, originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Heathland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive.

Domaine de Taulane Golf Resort is located in La Martre, France. Situated deep in the heart the Provence, Taulane lies in a secluded and beautiful wooded setting in the Southern Alps. Set at the heart of the 875 acre Domaine de Taulane estate and dominated by a luxury hotel set in an 18th century castle, Taulane is the first course with a Mountain and Forest Layout designed by Gary Player in France in 1992. He completely restyled an old layout with considerable taste and game knowledge, making full use of the landscape and preserving the natural beauty of the site while designing a challenging, versatile and accessible layout.

The course stretches through dense oak woods, deep valleys and vast expenses of open land, with an ever present mountainous backdrop. If the overall difficulties are quite accessible, a sound technique is required as well as a good fitness level, slopes are quite steep and a buggy might come handy. At 1,000 meters above sea level, the ball flies further and this will help considerably, considering the length of the course. The altitude makes for a pleasant temperature in summer although it can get a bit chilly in the morning off season, the region is very sunny. An exhilarating golfing experience in a exceptional natural setting and on a never too crowded. The Domaine de Taulane Golf Resort won awards of French Golf of the Year in 1993.

This a Par 72 course with 18 holes measuring 6,269 meters or 6,859 yards with a 134 slope gradient for a SSS, Standard Scratch Score of 71.1 from the championship tees. Buggies are available and Caddies can be engaged with prior reservation.

Their goal isn't just to make the green, it's to improve the quality of the game. They desire to exceed the needs and expectations of their guests, members and landlords by maintaining superior golf facilities and providing exceptional service at a great value.
