Biella Le Betulle Golf Club
Golf is an outdoor sport, originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. There are several types of golf courses namely Parkland, Links, Heathland, Desert, Browns, Sand, Snow, Par3 and Executive. The Golf Club Le Betulle was founded in 1958 and lies on the last slopes of the Alps between the towns of Biella and Ivrea. This course was designed by architect John Morrison. This is Italy's most understated golf club and it has remained outside the traditional golf circuit on the peninsula. Yet Le Betulle has earned the highest recognition from the world of golf and is ranked number one in country by Golf Digest, Il Mondo del Golf and Top Ten in Europe as per British golf magazine, Golf World. Biella Le Betulle is a course where the design only plays second part to the beauty of the landscape. The terrain, that of woodlands, looks as if it was made specifically for golf, yet it took the skill and inspiration of John Morrison to prepare this heady golfing cocktail. The architect has put to good use the topography of the terrain, with many slopes and water obstacles. The fairways wind through dense woods of ancient oaks, chestnuts, beeches and birch trees. Situated on the highest part of the course, the hole number 16 offers spectacular view of the surroundings mountains. The course has a very British feel about it, with strategically placed bunkers, treacherous ditches and many trees encroaching the fairways. A great test of golf in superb natural surroundings, although a bit tough for high handicappers, who should definitely choose to play from the front tees. This 18 Hole Course measures 6,427 meters or 7,032 yards for a Par 73 and a SSS, Standard Scratch Score of Par 74 from the Championship Tees. Walking is allowed on the Course with the availability of Caddies and Buggies. Their goal isn't just to make the green, it's to improve the quality of the game. They desire to exceed the needs and expectations of their guests, members and landlords by maintaining superior golf facilities and providing exceptional service at a great value.
